Historical grounds and structures are living cultural histories that serve as teachers of our history. Each of these "teachers" deserve our respect in their restoration. Quite often, we find that the materials used exceed modern materials in quality and almost always in workmanship. We maintain craftsmen who appreciate the skills of their ancestors and do our best to preserve that quality as well as the story they tell. Owning such structures and grounds typically carries enormous responsibility in both finance and devotion to continuing that story. Careful decisions are required in preservation, replication, current use needs and the degree of skill required to achieve the goal of continuing the "lecture" given by such valuable treasures. We are able to guide, direct and implement in these decisions.
